Dealer
Management Software is a software application that gives
dealers the ability to capture every aspect of a vehicle
sale including customer information, vehicle information and
deal information in one database. It uses this information
to calculate taxes, payments and finance charges and to
produce the required paperwork for titling and registration
and disclosures. For BHPH dealers, it also creates an
account to which payments are applied.
Why do I need it?
Beside
the obvious record keeping and compliance issues, it
protects dealers by clearly defining all of the terms of the
sale. If done correctly, everything you told your customer
about the vehicle, the deal and the financing terms are
clearly documented and signed by your customer. If you are
trying to operate a dealership without software, there is no
possible way you can be in total compliance with state and
federal regulations. As an example, dealers cannot
repossess a vehicle without a legally executed and federally
compliant contract which cannot be hand written.

Yes,
all of that and more. The solution to every compliance
issue, every state and federal regulation, every financing

computer (only with your permission) and immediately solve
any technical issue or to show you how to best perform a
specific function. Our support team is 100% in-house, and
most of the time you will be speaking with the very people
that wrote the software. Because we are also an experienced
CIADA dealer, we can answer questions about dealership
operations and compliance issues as well.
I plan on listing some of my inventory online. Does
Carolina Dealer Solutions help me with that?
Current
industry statistics indicate that almost 85% of used vehicle
buyers begin their search for a vehicle online. If your
dealership is not represented online, chances are no
prospective buyer will see you. Carolina Dealer Solutions
provides your dealership with a website that is managed by
you through the software. As soon as you enter a new
inventory item and photos in the software (up to 99 photos
of every vehicle), you will immediately see that vehicle on
your website. You will then have the ability to export that
information to Auto Trader, eBay, craigslist, and cars.com
through our state of the art export tools. You decide what
vehicles to post and the exporter does it for you. We also
have links to many free listing sites as well.
Does Carolina Dealer
Solutions have an accounting interface?
Yes,
Dealer Solutions provides users with a very robust
accounting interface which can be used with QuickBooks. We
offer a 35 page User’s Guide that tells you and your
accountant exactly how Dealer Solutions interacts with Quick
Books, how to set the correct file paths and default
settings to make the two programs communicate with each
other in the easiest possible way. The interface requires
the use of QuickBooks Pro 2007 or newer to be most
effective. We do not, however, provide accounting support.
We supply the interface and the User’s Guide, but it is up
to you and your accountant to establish and maintain your
chart of accounts and any other accounting functionality.
Can I back up my
database?
Because
our software resides on your hard drive (not the internet)
it automatically backs up your data to your hard drive every
day, but that won’t keep you from losing irreplaceable data
in the event of a catastrophe. As a CIADA Carolina Dealer
Solutions customer, your database will be automatically
encrypted and sent to our secure server everyday at a
predetermined time. In the event of a loss of data at your
dealership, all you would have to do is replace your
computer and we can have you up and running quickly with no
loss of data. This also ensures your compliance with the FTC
Safeguard rules.
How much does all this cost?
We
believe that dealers are looking for value and substance in
